Messi brace extends MLS Golden Boot lead to six goals

Inter Miami beat Atlanta United 3-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, 17 October 2026, Goal.com reported. Lionel Messi scored in the 56th and 60th minutes, taking his season tally to 25 goals.

Goal.com reported that Messi's double gave him a six-goal lead in the race for the MLS Golden Boot, and that he is tied for the league lead in assists, with 15, alongside Son Heung-min. Messi has scored 936 career goals, the report said.

Inter Miami coach Kily Gonzalez said of Messi: "He never ceases to amaze the world," according to Goal.com.
