Diaz hat-trick returns Bayern Munich to Bundesliga summit

Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 6-1 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, 17 October 2026, ESPN reported. Luis Diaz scored a hat-trick, with goals in the 12th, 47th and 69th minutes.

Aleksandar Pavlovic added a second in the 26th minute, Michael Olise made it three in the 34th, and Harry Kane added a goal early in the second half. Andrija Maksimovic scored a late consolation for Leipzig in stoppage time, ESPN said.

The win moved Bayern back to the top of the Bundesliga table on 14 points from six matches, ESPN reported, after they had benefited from Borussia Dortmund's goalless draw earlier in the day.
